Magazine

Technology, platforms and the way digital life actually works.

Magazine is the technology desk: platforms and the rules they change quietly, devices worth the money and devices that are not, streaming, accounts, passwords and the small print that decides who owns what you upload. It also takes the longer pieces that do not fit a news slot — how a service works, why it broke, what the company said afterwards.

The reports are written for someone deciding whether to sign up, switch or cancel, not for someone following the industry. Where a story turns on a term of service or a published policy, the report names it, so the claim can be checked against the source rather than against us.

The desk holds 29 reports filed between October 26, 2023 and November 11, 2025. Newest sits first, and the date under a headline is the date it was published.

A report belongs to one desk, and the address it was published at does not change afterwards: renaming a section does not move a page, so a link saved years ago still opens the same report. Where a story touches two subjects it stays in the desk it was filed to, and the same page is also reachable from the writer it belongs to.

The order on this page is by date, not by how much traffic a report draws, and long pieces are listed on the same terms as short ones. If a fact in one of them is wrong, the newsroom address takes corrections: the fix is written onto the report itself, with a note saying what changed, rather than published somewhere else.
